File Analysys for Cloud NAS saving
We’re often asked how much space can be saved on file servers by using Wasabi Cloud NAS with Space Reclamation.
To help answer that, I created a small PowerShell script that generates a CSV file. The output can then be filtered by a chosen date range to show the potential savings over that period.
This video walks you through how to run the script and how to analyze the output.
If you’d like a copy of the script, please email neale@wasabi.com
AWS S3 CLI Install and Setup
This demo walks through the installation and configuration of the AWS S3 CLI to enable command-line access to Wasabi. Many customers request CLI access to move data, automate workflows, or configure advanced Wasabi features. Since Wasabi is fully S3-compatible, the AWS CLI can be easily configured to interact directly with Wasabi storage for efficient data management and automation.
Wasabi Console Walkthrough and Setup
A comprehensive walkthrough of the Wasabi Management Console from a new user perspective, outlining the complete process of registering for a Wasabi trial account, logging in for the first time, and configuring the essential components required to become fully operational with Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage.
Wasabi and Synology ActiveProtect
Synology recently provided me with a DP320 ActiveProtect backup appliance to evaluate its functionality, specifically its backup copy capability to Wasabi.
In this video, I take a look at the hardware, walk through the initial setup, connect it to Wasabi, and running through various backup and restore scenarios to assess performance and usability.
Wasabi – Covert Copy
A Demo on the Covert Copy feature
Rclone to copy data – and schedule
This is a demo of using Rclone to copy data from another providers S3 bucket to Wasabi (or visa versa) I often get asked if there was a way to have a scheduled copy of data from one source to another.
(if over 50TB Wasabi has Wasabi Cloud Sync Manager which is a Wasabi Service that moved data into Wasabi from another provider)
Wasabi Minimum Storage Duration Policy
A short video to explain the Wasabi Minimum Storage Duration Policy – kudos to my colleague and friend Michel Chalogany who gave me the idea for the spreadsheet
Cloud NAS with Bucket Move
There are times when a customer needs to move buckets from one storage account to another. Bucket moves are an internal support operation and must be authorised by Sales Ops; customers cannot perform this action themselves.
To request a bucket move, please contact your Sales Representative.
When a bucket that is part of a Cloud NAS sync is moved, several changes must be made on the client to re-establish the connection. This demo walks through those steps.
Wasabi – Multi User Authentication (MUA)
A bit of a play around with Multi-User Authentication to see what it does and what it protects against.
